Ghostbusters 3 Is Going To Happen. Here's My Recast

The question now is whether that's a good thing or not.

Aykroyd appeared on The Dennis Miller Show and dropped the following bombshell on listeners.

“Yes, we will be doing the movie and hopefully with Mr. Murray. That is our hope. We have an excellent script. What we have to remember is that Ghostbusters is bigger than any one component, although Billy was absolutely the lead and contributed to it in a massive way, as was the director and Harold [Ramis], myself and Sigourney [Weaver]. The concept is much larger than any individual role and the promise of Ghostbusters 3 is that we get to hand the equipment and the franchise down to new blood (Comingsoon.net)."

Listen Aykroyd there is no Ghostbusters without Bill Murray. It just shouldn't happen, so as much as I have been praying there would be another Ghostbusters movie, I am starting to think I don't want this to happen. Like I said no Bill Murray, no movie. Beyond that, they better be real careful about who they cast for this movie. I have been trying to think about who would fit in perfectly. Basically you need 3-4 guys to take on the roles. Requirements would they would have to be funny, but not overly goofy, and actually be able to act. Here is a quick cast (not all, but who would make sense to me) I think I would go for. I am staying away from huge named actors, because I am trying to make this something that could actually happen.

Aziz Ansari:

The dude is funny. Plus, picture him getting scared shitless by ghosts. That's comedy right there. He is a decent actor, and I think him and Bill Murray could fit well together. There were rumors about him before, and when I read it, I could totally picture it. I also think that his career is at the right place where he would totally jump at a movie like this. (Basically: take Egon's place, as mad scientist, but way funnier).

Joel McHale:

I know, I know I am just grabbing from the same lineup, but wouldn't he make sense at the overly confident rookie joining the Ghostbusters? He has a kind of dry sense of humor that could work well with the rest of the cast. If you remember the original Ghostbusters movie that's basically what it was (he could be the next Peter Venkman). Another option here Vince Vaughn.

Seth Rogen:

He is overused, and people are starting to get tired of his act, but he would fit as a Ghostbuster. I think he would need to go fat again to be honest, but he would be another guy that would be hilarious getting scared by ghosts. The only other guy I could come up with was Jason Segal. I think that could also work. (anyways they would be the next Ray).

Omar Epps:

The one I had a hard time with was Winston. Here had a smaller part, and was actually a kind of serious. So I took a shot in the dark and say Omar Epps. He seem like someone who could play that character, and what the fuck is he doing other then that show House, which I think is ending soon. I do feel like there has to be someone better out there then him for this. Maybe Craig Robinson (The Office/Hot Tub Time Machine)?
