NFL Preview: Pittsburgh Steelers

2010: 12-4

Offense:

The Steelers have a pretty steady offense led by Big Ben and Rashard Mendenhall on the ground. Roethlisberger overcame the drama the media created last season to throw for 3,200 yards and 17 touchdowns and only five interceptions in 12 games. He has a knack for the drama and rarely does anything wrong. He is not your prototypical stand in the pocket QB and is able to extend plays with his legs and make the clutch throw. His receivers are the never aging Hines Ward, youngsters Mike Wallace and Emmanual Sanders and former Jet Jericho Cotchery. They also have Heath Miller who is an outstanding goal line option for Ben. The problem lies within the offensive line Markice Pouncey is a hell of a center and can hold his own, the rest of the line is mix and match. I don't want to bash them too much because a lot of Ben's issues come from him trying to extend the play. But this offense is solid.

Defense:

This defense is amazing, the only issue I have is the lack of depth at the corner position. They have Ike Taylor who is really good, but when teams go 3-4 wide, they don't have the talent to match. Ryan Clark and obviously Troy Polomalu is a game changer, but if there is a weakness in the defense, the secondary is it. The Steelers have the best linebackers in the league, Lamarr Woodley, Lawrence Timmons, James Farrior and James Harrison are guys any team would love to have. And Casey Hampton and his fat ass anchor the defensive line. But their is starting to be young blood when it comes to the defensive line, Brent Kiesel and Aaron Smith are good, but old. Newly drafted Cameron Heyward and Ziggy Hood will be seeing a lot more playing time.

Overall:

12-4 Pittsburgh's Going To Win The Superbowl
