"Red Sox manager Terry Francona isn't sure whether Tim Wakefield or Andrew Miller will be the team's fifth starter going forward. "We have the Yankees series planned out, and then we need to wait and see what we're going to do here," Francona said Saturday. Wakefield has a 5.69 ERA in eight starts since the All-Star break, and Miller has won his last two starts. "We're thrilled," Francona said of Miller's performance. "You're always trying to balance the present, the future, making it match and sometimes it's not easy (CBS Sports)."
I think no matter what the Red Sox will get Wake his 200th win. I mean you leave him hanging at 199, especially since he has pitched pretty well other then that last game when he got lit up by the A's. Saying that, if Miller keeps pitching like this the Sox might need to stick with Miller. We all know he has the stuff to be great, and can shut a team down. We also know Wake will let up at least 3 runs every time he pitches. It's an interesting decision, but I know I do not want Wakefield starting in the playoffs, and do want him to touch the field other the mop-up duty.
