Yankees @ Red Sox Preview

Josh Beckett has been the Red Sox best pitcher all year. He has also owned the Yankees. Beckett tries to improve to 4-0 on the season against the Yankees, so far he is 3-0 with a 1.00 ERA in four starts against the Yankees. Pretty incredible when you think about it since the Yankees have one of the best lineups in all of baseball.

Trying to stop Beckett's streak will be Phil Hughes. Hughes let up six runs and seven hits in 2 2/3 innings against Oakland on Thursday, but overall has actually pitched pretty well lately going 3-1 with a 1.75 ERA in his previous four starts. Still, the Sox should light this kid up, and have over his short career (1-3 with a 7.03 ERA in seven career starts versus Boston).

The Red Sox need some clutch hits tonight, and when they need that one guy comes to mind... David Ortiz. He is batting .542 with 3 HRs and 7 RBIs over the past 7 days, and is 7 for 15 with a homer and three doubles in his career off Hughes.

Red Sox win 7-3
