DP predicted earlier today that Peyton Manning will only play 4 games this year. He might not be too far off after ready this tweet from the owner of the Colts...
"NFL Season opens 2nite!We had a good practice yesterday and r guys r fired up 4 the season.#18's out for awhile,but compete,we will/BELIEVE," Irsay wrote on his Twitter page.
Now every media outlet is jumping all over this and saying that he will be out a long time. I am not sure you can read into that tweet that much, but I guess you could read it as the owner trying to soften the blow of a possible nonreturn of the one of the greatest QBs of all time. I have heard rumors that he could be out for the year. Honestly, I would be really disappointed, you never want to see any of the best players not playing. If Manning doesn't play this year the Colts won't win more then 5 games.
There are two rumors about what is going on with Manning. One rumor says that he has already had a 2nd procedure of his neck, while the other rumors says he is going to need one before he can play. Either way it doesn't sound like he'll be back anytime soon, so I am line to agree with DP's prediction. Though, I think if it comes down to him just playing 4 games, that the Colts might opt to just sit him out the season.

Colts QB Peyton Manning had additional neck surgery this morning and will miss two to three months.
