Packers Cutting Ryan Grant?

"According to Tom Silverstein of the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel, the Green Bay Packers are guaranteed to keep three running backs: James Starks, Alex Green, and John Kuhn.

Not on that list: Ryan Grant, who went over 1,200 yards in 2008 and 2009, but carried the ball only eight times in 2010, ruining his ankle in Week 1 and missing the rest of the season. It's less that the Packers think Grant is washed up, and more they think he's too expensive (ESPN)."

Bullshit, that's what this is. ESPN ran that story yesterday, and apparently decided to do little to no research on the situation. Grant's 2011 salary has been reduced to $2.5 million, and it's already full guaranteed, which means cutting him would do nothing for cutting costs, so he would have to be pretty terrible for that to happen. I have noticed in the 2 preseason games that Grant is splitting carries with Starks with the #1 unit (Starks actually seems to play more with that unit), but I think they are just being cautious with Grant. He missed all last year, and it could just take some time to get him going again, and trusting that ankle. My thinking is that Grant will play this year, and then most likely be let go after the year, as he will be 29 years old and probably cost too much.
