2011 NFL Preview: Buffalo Bills

2010 Record: 4-12

Offense:

The Bills believe in Ryan Fitzpatrick. I mean they must right, they had a chance to draft someone like Blaine Gabbert, but instead said "fuck it I like this Harvard kid". Fitzpatrick was decent last year throwing 23 TDs and 15 INTs. Will he put those numbers up again? It could be tough with Lee Evans gone. Replace Evans is Brad Smith, who is like a nice 3rd WR, but I don't think he is anything that is going to change thier offense. Their running back situation is OK Jackson proved to be pretty reliable and Spiller is still very explosive. Steve Johnson is a WR that no one seems to talk about, but he at over 1,000 yards last season and 10 TDs, but once again that could be a lot tougher to get now that Evans is gone.

Defense:

Basically they are hoping Merriman found a way to get all juiced up again. Rookie Marcell Dareus should help a defensive line that already has Kyle Williams who had 77 tackles and 5.5 sacks. On top of that the Nick Barnett (from Packers) pickup I thought was a good one if he can stay healthy, but losing Paul Posluszny is going to hurt. Terrence McGee and Drayton Florence are both good cover corners, and if Aaron Williams (2nd round pick from Texas) can turn into something special that could be the best part of their defense.

Overall:

They have had 1 winning season since 1999, and I just don't see this team going in the right direction. What is there going to be excited about? That Merriman is going to be awesome. Cool, even if he is this team still blows.
