Giants 18 Patriots 17

We all know scores don't matter in the preseason, so don't read into that at all. It's all about how sharp guys look, and staying healthy. Nearly all of New England’s starters played the first half, and we finally got to see Albert Haynesworth and Shaun Ellis play.

Tom Brady was decent (5/9 116 yards), but he didn't look very sharp. Maybe it was the hits from the week before, but he seemed to be a little erratic with his throws. Overall he just didn't impress me that much. Actually the only thing that impressed me on offense the whole game was the catch by Slater (great name). Damn that kid is fast, I don't know if he has any ability to run route, I do know he is a great special teamer, but damn is he dangerous once he has the ball in his hands.

The defense for the Patriots looked good. A little shaky against the run at times, but overall we getting a lot of pressure on the QB, and they seemed to be shutting down the Giants WRs. I would loved to get pumped about it, but the Giants weren't starting any starters, so the Patriots should kick the shit out of the "B" squad.

So, yea I didn't learn very much. Haynesworth is huge, and I love how many defensive lineman the Patriots can rotate in and out. I think that can be huge against teams, since they can wear down the offensive lines with fresh bodies all the time.

So here are some quick nonsense awards for the preseason Patriots:

Will be most overrated player by fans: Matthew Slater - I guarantee we will hear a "why don't they use that Slater guy" comment very early into the season.

Random new guy on the Patriots defense that I am starting to love: Andre Carter - It never seems like he shows up on the stat sheet, but the dude is a beast. Remember he is only a year removed from having 11 sacks. He could prove to be very valuable to the Patriots (watch now they will cut him). I also love Patrick Chung, but he's not new.

Fantasy Bust: Ochocinco. Don't get me wrong I think he will end up having a "good year", and by that I mean 700 yards 5 TDs, but he will be draft so early in all drafts because some asshole Pats fan will think he is the next Randy Moss.

On to the best part of last night's game Carr being replaced in the 4th quarter by Ryan Perrilloux (REMEMBER HIM??????), who ended up giving the Giants their first lead on a 2-point conversion pass to Jerrel Jernigan. On man I used to be all about that guy until he ended up going all Haitian and get kicked out of LSU. In my opinion the Giants would be best suited to cut ShEli and go with Perrilloux for a Vick-like comeback.
