Things aren't looking very good for the Sox at the moment. They have scored 24 runs over the past two games, and yet only won one of them. The bullpen blew it for them last and, and once again Wake will have to wait for this stupid fucking 200th win. To make matters worse there are injury problems. Beckett is out for at least 1 more start, Buchholz is probably lost for the season, Dice-K is gone, and other then Lester there isn't much to trust in this rotation. Plus, tonight they have to go against the Jays best pitcher (Ricky Romero).
Ok, enough doom and gloom. Here is why the Sox win tonight.
First off, offensively they are rolling. They have been lighting up the scoreboard, and have owned Romero throughout his career (2-6 8.08 ERA). Romero who has allowed 11 runs, 17 hits and eight walks in 8 2/3 innings while losing his 2 starts against the Sox this season. That's damn shocking when you see that he is 13-10 with a 2.97 ERA this year.
Going against Romero is Andrew Miller. Miller has never started versus Toronto. He did get crushed by the Rangers last time out, but well they are the Rangers. Before that fiasco he had only yielded one run and six hits over 11 2/3 innings while winning his previous two starts.
Red Sox win 8-4
