Frank Gore said that he and his agent were set to meet Monday with the San Francisco 49ers to figure out a way to make him happy. Gore wants a new contract, and there have been reports that if he doesn't get one, he'll demand a trade. Even though he wants one I don't see how it is going to happen. The 49ers are going to think he has more value then teams are going to be willing to give up. Gore is coming off one of his worst seasons, and is 29 years old. That gives him 2 years before he hits that wall for RBs of 30 years old. With him wanting a huge long term contract, no one is going to go out and give up first round picks, ect. My guess is that he will be a 49er, and I think he'll be really stupid if he holds out.
***UPDATE***
Yea, I think we all knew he wasn't going anywhere, as Gore signs a three year deal for $21 million with $13.5 million guaranteed. I actually think this is a great deal for the 49ers, as he will be 31 when the contract ends, and they can move on without being tied down. Plus, he is worth that money. Nice job 49ers, now go get a real QB.
